Documentaries

Here are two films I think everyone should see…

The documentary The Impassioned Eye is about famous photography Henri Cartier-Bresson. This movie is beautifully filmed and it’s one of the most inspiring documentaries I have seen in a long time.

The documentary Born Into Brothels is about photographer Zana Briski who traveled to Calcutta to photograph life in the red light district. She began a class for the children of the woman living in the brothels teaching them about photography. It’s a lovely and heartbreaking tale. Very inspiring as well.

Both these documentaries are on Netflix & both I would highly recommend.

SonsAndDaughtersShoot

I have reached my goal of shooting 3000 photos this month. I am going to try and take 6000 photo in July. Let’s see if I can do it!

While editing today I found this photo that Matthew got of me from the shoot(s) on wednesday. It’s a rare photo of me because I don’t have a camera in my hands… I was posing for some test shots that Matthew got with my camera. He loved using my camera.

These pictures will not be used for the album art work I am working on but I thought I would give you guys something to look at till I am able to post the final product.  Soon hopefully… It goes to print on Tuesday!

It’s been a wonderful month. Wow, looking back so much has happened!  I am really looking forward to next month now. I am taking pictures at a few weddings, a few family shoots, and I get to work with Peter Bang! I am also going to hopefully open my Etsy shop early in July! Hooray for July!

Summer is my least favorite season, but I am glad that I am doing what I love… and getting paid for it is just icing on the gluten-free cake!

July here I come! Bring on the pictures!

What I did today…

I shot an event in Sliver Springs MD. It was a lovely day filled with family and friends helping a lovely couple celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. I can’t show you guys any of the photos of people (they asked me to keep things very private) But here’s a shot of the candy bar. So, all I can say is thanks Jonathan & Careema for letting me be part of your day and for being such a wonderful couple! Praying that you guys have years of happiness together!

Now I am off to do some editing for the album cover I am working on… It’s been a busy, but wonderful day!

Ps. Thanks Samara for letting me work for you on this event! It was so much fun working with you girl. You have some mad event planning skills!
