Goals update…
Posted: June 27th, 2009 | 5 Comments »I have reached my goal of shooting 3000 photos this month. I am going to try and take 6000 photo in July. Let’s see if I can do it!
While editing today I found this photo that Matthew got of me from the shoot(s) on wednesday. It’s a rare photo of me because I don’t have a camera in my hands… I was posing for some test shots that Matthew got with my camera. He loved using my camera.
These pictures will not be used for the album art work I am working on but I thought I would give you guys something to look at till I am able to post the final product. Soon hopefully… It goes to print on Tuesday!
It’s been a wonderful month. Wow, looking back so much has happened! I am really looking forward to next month now. I am taking pictures at a few weddings, a few family shoots, and I get to work with Peter Bang! I am also going to hopefully open my Etsy shop early in July! Hooray for July!
Summer is my least favorite season, but I am glad that I am doing what I love… and getting paid for it is just icing on the gluten-free cake!
July here I come! Bring on the pictures!

awesome, jenny
thanks beth.
so. question. on editing.
i would love to make a tangible goal like 3000 images a month. however, the thought of editing those 3000 is flipping scary. i’m talking some major intimidation here.
so. how do you do it? i mean how do you tackle the editing monster. i’m so very curious to know your system.
+ where do you put them all? flash stick. photo book. prints. online storage. personally, my good old ibm thinkpad would hate me if i left my monthly 3000 (or better yet 6000) sitting in my docs. it just won’t be kosher. again, curious to your solution.
Hey Tessa,
I use lightroom/photoshop for editing. And I don’t edit 3000+ photos all the time. I just have a goal to be actively shooting that many. I honestly maybe edit about 1000 photos but sometimes more. Depends on jobs I am working on.
I have a hard drive named AC Slater (sorry, Saved by the Bell reference) that when I work on a project I only keep them on my computer till I am done editing them, then store all the files on AC Slater for safe keeping. I am looking into online backup storage, but haven’t had a problem or a need for it yet.
I think making goals that are within our realities of life is helpful. I might not always be able to shoot that many photos and sometime I will have to shoot a lot more then 6000. It really depends.
Hope that is helpful.
very. thanks
