Photo From My Week…

I love reading. It’s really good to stop and read during our busy lives. It’s most important in these seasons of hard work and stress.
I have been reading for my not photography related reading a book called The Little Country by Charles de Lint. It’s been good so far, but not sure about it yet.
I have been on a fantasy type book kick for a long time now. Since I read The Giver, Gathering Blue, & The Messenger by Lois Lowry I have been just eating it up. Everything from Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card to The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. And can’t forget Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.
Hooray for Reading!
I love listening to music and I find that when I do, good things happen in my mind & my imagination. I see images coming to life like a movie reel filled with beauty.
Since I was a little girl I have loved listening to music and coming up with stories. I am thinking that in August I would like to take this into my photography. I want to take a piece of music and then make an image that tells a story about the music.
Passion Pit has really been inspiring today. Last night I could hear my husband listening to them in his office and I just had to listen to them.
I love music. I also love new music.
Dear reader, what music inspires you. What do you listen to and it gets your mind moving? There is no wrong answer here either.
Bethany is coming home today and we are all so excited. I love being an auntie to Benjamin, Christopher, Carson, Kylee & now little sweet Bethany! It’s such a blessing.
Benjamin and I made these little letter photos spelling out Bethany’s name. Benjamin loves letters and it was a fun little activity to do with him getting ready for little sister to come.
More photos on the way when she gets here today!
Waiting for baby sister to come home. They are getting excited!
She’s finally here… asleep but here & already loved so much!
Yesterday I had the great pleasure of shooting Preston & Melody’s wedding with my fellow photographer friend Peter Bang.
Preston & Melody were some of the sweetest people I have ever met. Their love for each other was pouring out of them and it was so much fun to be at their wedding and see the day unfold.
Melody made the perfect bride, very elegant and lovely. Preston made the perfect groom, attentive to Melody’s every move and striking in his tux.
Thank you Preston & Melody for being such a beautiful couple. Love is such a blessing and marriage is a sweet gift. I pray that you have many years of blessing ahead and you look back on your wedding day with joy!
I will have some of my photographs being projected at this event along with other fine artists. Come listen to some good music, drink coffee and see some art. Sound good? I think it sounds lovely.
Two pictures from the shoot a few weeks ago for the Sons & Daughters album project. Never will be used but still fun.
I am hopefully going to Uganda/Africa this January to photograph a mission trip. My heart is overwhelmed. I am so undeserving. I know that God will provide the means and grace to do it! I know on my own I could never do it.
Please begin to pray with me as I prepare over the next few months for this unbelievable trip.
Part of me is still in shock! I am going to Africa. To work & take photographs of a nation in so much need. I pray that my camera can find beauty and grace. And that I walk away never the same again. The people are so beautiful. The child are so beautiful. I can’t wait.
My heart is already there…
