Sons & Daughters and The Tightrope EP

Posted: August 10th, 2009 | 4 Comments »

It’s been awhile since I have been able to post. Busy with wedding pictures, and my family was in town last week. I have been loving my work lately and really looking forward to this weeks photoshoots.

So, I am overdue showing off my album photography work. I worked with Matthew Wahl on a project called Sons & Daughters for Sovereign Grace Music. Matthew did the design and I did the photography. I love working with Matthew. He’s awesome!

The photos for Sons & Daughters were so much fun to shoot. We spent three days shooting, and on the last day one of the last photos shot ended up being used for the cover. That is just how it is sometimes… the least likely photo is the one that ends up being used. Also, the inside photograph is an outtake photo that I just shot thinking, “this looks cool”. But never in a million years thought it would end up being used either.

Here’s Sons & Daughters

Also, I want to show off a dear friends album artwork. Chloe Francis is a singer/songwriter based in London. I shot the inside photo for Chloe’s EP while she was recording in Cincinnati, Ohio with Ric Hordinski at his studio there. Rick’s studio is in a very cool old church, so we did Chloe’s headshot there because it was really cold outside (it was December in Ohio) & we loved the inside of the old building. Jeff Martin did the design, take a look at his flickr. Jeff is super cool!

Hooray for long posts!

(Also the Next 2009 Live worship album cover is a photo I shot while I was the lead photographer at the NEXT conference this year. Fun, fun! Take a look.)
